Coconut oil - the miracle beauty product

You may think 'miracle' is an over-exaggeration, but seriously, this stuff is so good. I've used it for a few years now, but only recently have I found out the full extent of it's powers.

What coconut oil do I use? Superdrug's own brand

Superdrug coconut oil - suitable for vegetarians and vegans - BUAV (leaping bunny) approved.

If you live somewhere cold like me, then the coconut oil is generally going to be in solid form. I either spoon a bit out and warm it between my palms until it melts, or put the tub in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes.

So what can coconut oil be used for?

1) Moisturiser - I'm prone to dry skin and eczema and coconut oil is one of the best moisturisers I've come across. Just be careful not to use it on broken skin, because it'll hurt! Try using it on your face as well. I got a break-out the first time I used it as a face moisturiser, but it's never caused a problem since.

2) Make-up remover - I wish I'd known this last time I went travelling. Just give it a good rub it into your face and then wipe off with a hot damp flannel. Finding this out has changed my life. OK maybe it's just changed my skincare routine, but I always struggled to find a decent eye make-up remover at a low cost. I've always struggled with acne, and it seems to be worse since I stopped being a teenager (how is that fair?!), but using the coconut oil as a make-up remover/ cleanser seems to have really improved my skin.

3) Hair conditioner/ mask - Put a load onto dry hair and leave it for as long as you like for a hair mask, then shampoo it out. Or use on wet hair like you would a regular conditioner. You can also use a small amount on dry hair to hydrate and smooth it, although be careful not to use too much or your hair will become greasy.

4) Perfume - it smells amazing so rub a bit on your wrists and neck.

5) Great for travelling - this isn't really a use, but it replaces a few different products with one small tub, saving space and liquid allowance! It lasts for ages as well, even with regular use.

This is what I use coconut oil for, if you know of any other great uses, let me know down in the comments.

P.S. This is not a sponsored post, I just really love the stuff and wanted to share!
